Rope Me In
by Kayla Grosse
Love my cowboys of Nighthawk and this book was everything I needed it to be.
Personally I found Kade's character more interesting than his brother, who the previous book in this series is about. Which was unexpected, I just feel like Kade had more layers to who he was outside of being in love. He was dealing with his own family and life and that felt more forefront to his personality as a character.
The writing in this book compared to the first one also felt smoother and like a step up, I am very excited to see what other stories we can get in this universe.
Seeing the way Kade and Presley both grew into people who were more comfortable in their bodies; and that simply being with someone didn't magically fix their issues like so many books tend to do was refreshing. Like having each other didn't fix them, but having someone in their corner for once did help them enough to want to fix themselves.
I think the main characters connection and dynamic felt very real and fun. The banter didn't feel forced or overdone. I will say it felt odd that Presley makes a point to say Kade was far too young for her and then just... never has an issue with it or brings it up again, so I don't feel like the initial thought was necessary at all if it wasn't going to be expanded on in her constant flow of worries, but otherwise I felt like their chemistry was palpable.
The expansion of Kade and Gavin's relationship was done extremely well, carrying over the issues they had in Rein Me In into this book along with expanding on the issues in the Montgomery family as a whole.
This book did make me cry.. that being said, I do tend to cry often at books, I just wasn't expecting it with a little cowboy slight bdsm romance book..
