I Who Have Never Known Men
by Jacqueline Harpman
***** maybe a tiny spoiler?
This was just an okay read for me. I was honestly expecting to love it but it just felt flat to me - I needed more character / relationship development, I think. It was a lonely read. The ending was so (intentionally) open-ended as well and that’s just not my jam - I felt compelled to spend an hour combing Reddit for theories just to gain a sense of closure. That being said, it was an interesting concept and well written, and I’ll be thinking about it for a while.
