A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske

medium-paced

3.0

There are definitely things I liked about this book: the secret coexistence of the magical and unmagical worlds, the way magic is created, the magical games played, the mystery of murder, secret contracts, and the strength of power and desire. The world building is VERY detailed and brilliant descriptive writing, but sometimes at the expense of the action. The story is based in Edwardian England, and at times it read that way - long winded and borderline boring.
