Serenading Heartbreak by Ella Fields

Dark romance is my favorite genre, but I do still occasionally want to take a break from the crazy and read a normal love story. Which is why I picked up this book.

Which turned out to be a mistake.

The best way I can describe this novel... is terribly insipid. All the characters are colorless. Everybody had horrible communication skills. The hero was always drunk. Everybody was so cutesy and underdeveloped. The humor seemed like it came from a sitcom.

And every time the hero would kiss the heroine, he would whisper under his breath, "I'm not worthy" which just... um... was really... really... indescribably cringey. I did not enjoy those scenes, to put it lightly.

Don't know why I stopped reading about the psychos. This was such a bad idea.
