This book is brutal. The losses... it hurts. I also think this is REALLY where DG starts to lose all trains of thought. It's enjoyable because it's our people, but the ending (not HELLO THE HOUSE, NEVER that) is just so... random thoughts strung together. The time spent in Savannah, the journey home, the trip to the market where Claire recognizes Martha's husband... it feels so out of place from the rest of the book. But anyway, my review above appears to be pretty comprehensive and I just wrote my review for "The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane" and I'm ready to go soak in the tub lol. I do not think this is a contend for the number 2 spot this read. As much as I love the time spent with LJG, and the Battle of Monmouth, I don't think the rest of it are of the same calibre.
