This book was a RIDE - I didn't expect to enjoy it anywhere near as much as I did. I've seen mixed reviews of the epistolary narrative, but I found it really compelling and well-done. The text messages and headlines piece together the puzzle of the crime, as well as the intricacies of the characters and their lives. I was amazed at how well I could picture everything and everyone in the book based only on snippets on conversations, and how well the author nailed the twists and turns while tying up the loose ends nicely. I'd recommend this to anyone who's into detective novels or mysteries/thrillers in general - it's an interesting, modern take on an arguably oversaturated genre, and while it touches on serious topics, the tone is lighthearted enough throughout that it leaves an impression without being too emotionally draining.
