The Enchanted Castle

adventurous
lighthearted
I always enjoy rereading this. The kids get into just the right amount of trouble to keep things interesting. As always, the kids are the stars, but among the adults I particularly like Mademoiselle. It's always interesting to see how interactions between children and adults have changed over time and not changed. I understand why children are now discouraged from making friends with random adults, but something was lost along the way--the friendship between the bailiff and the kids is delightful.
