While I was a bit shocked that someone in book club has chosen this (we've had three long reads in a row!), I hadn't read it. Many others had, and spoke very highly of it. It is similar to [b:Outlander|10964|Outlander (Outlander, #1)|Diana Gabaldon|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1304187141s/10964.jpg|2489796] (Cross Stitch) and you fall for Natheniel as you did for Jamie. If I had to rank them, I would say that this novel is better but possibly only because of the relationship discipline folly that annoyed me in Cross Stich.
Neither book however makes me want to pick up the rest of the series when I've got a bunch of shorter reads in the pile beside my bed, but I'm looking forward to discussing this at bookclub and coming up with our Indian names :)
