Orpheus may be one of my favourite characters of all time. He is the epitome of “looks like they could kill you, is a cinnamon roll”. I am absolutely besotted with him. Not only is he the sweetest greenest flag of a monster, but he is so well thought out and well written.
A world filled with demons is not necessarily inviting but the world created in this book is incredible. I love the mix of historical with fantasy and a little dash of sci-fi. My only issue is one or two tiny gaps in the logic.
I did not expect to love a book that has tentacle sex organs but here we are. I have not been able to stop think about this book, even this long after reading it (I’m writing this review about a month after finishing the book). I am so excited for the rest of the series but at the same time, absolutely terrified it will not live up to this book.
