The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf

As the only female alpha of a werewolf pack, Maggie Graham has her hands full keeping her family's secrets safe, warding off unwanted proposals from overzealous suitors and dealing with a spate of malicious attacks. Maggie's problems are compounded by the arrival of Dr. Nick Thatcher, a sexy and stubborn anthropologist, eager to investigate rumors of lycanthropy and just as determined to get under Maggie's fur. Has Maggie finally met her match in the most unlikely of places?
While the plot has potential and the romance has its moments, the characters are too one-dimensional and the storyline lacks cohesiveness.
Maggie is the quintessential prickly heroine who tends to leap before she looks. This is not usually a problem for me, however, here it results in several TSTL moments that make it difficult to identify with her.
Nick is sweet and endearing, but far too beta for my tastes. Consequently, there is a lack of balance and equality in his relationship with Maggie.
The suspense plot is the weakest aspect of the story. The stalker theme starts out well and develops at a solid pace. Unfortunately, it takes a turn for the worse when one logical suspect is exonerated and replaced with another who is so painfully obvious that it no longer makes any sense and results in a contrived and anti-climactic resolution. Harper should have stuck with her original villain.
All in all, this installment lacks the characterization, plotting and humor, which made the first book so wonderful.
