This is a slow burn of a book and it has an unsettling vibe right from the start. With the small coastal town setting and the caravan park in the winter and the strange goings on all add to whole sense of eeriness throughout the book.
The story is told in the POV’s of the caravan park owner Fran and Tad who is a traveller who is living in the field next to the caravan park.
I found Fran to be really quite strange and her obsession with the birds is all a bit odd too. I liked having the other POV and hearing things from Tad’s view. He always seemed to be watching and didn’t miss much that was going on.
As things went on I felt myself getting more and more uneasy wondering what was going to happen.
When the twists came I was absolutely shocked! Wasn’t expecting that!
If you love an unsettling read that has an eerie vibe and is a slow burn. I’d recommend this one.
