I dove straight into the second book in the Plated Prisoner series and ate it up! This one brings in a few different POVs, which was a great addition. They give more insight into certain characters’ motives and makes the story feel even more layered.

Auren is slowly becoming more likeable in this book. We get to see some moments of feminine rage, but also her softer, more protective side when it comes to the Saddles. She’s finally starting to question her life and her relationship with Midas, and she really needed that wake-up call.

Rip and his crew gave me major Rhysand’s Inner Circle vibes (in the best way), and I’m so excited to learn more about each of them. We only got glimpses for now, but I can tell there’s a lot more to come. I liked the deeper look into Auren’s past and I hope we get more of that in the next books.

The story mostly sticks to one setting, but that didn’t slow it down at all. It still moved at a good pace and kept me hooked. And that ending made my jaw drop. Although I had a feeling about where it was heading, the way it all played out still amazing. There were a few twists I didn’t see coming, and they were so well done. Can’t wait to jump into the next one!
