Authority and the Individual by Bertrand Russell

3.0

Good message, but a little bit strong on socialism for my tastes. Especially on his thoughts on the evil of competition. In this lecture series, that was not explained fully. Evils? yes, but benefits as well (not mentioned). I did enjoy the overall theme of balancing authority with the health and welfare of the individual. Governments very very easily go way past Russell's three reasons for government: security, justice, and conservation.
