A real mixed bag here.
Some advice on making indie and low budget films, some examples of scripts that came to nothing and short stories that they didn’t know what to do with.
There’s also just some opinions on what films they love and why (made me desperately want to rewatch American Movie, too).
Sadly it does feel like a book written by two talents who were offered a book deal, rather than something they came up with, so at times it does feel rushed and sketchy.
Works best when it’s two very close brothers talking about the joys and frictions of working so closely together for their whole careers. And their love of film really shines through.
And My Sister’s Sister is an amazing piece of work. So there’s that, too.
