Bound by Love by Cora Reilly

Thoughts:

When I picked this book up, my ultimate thought was, 'Please, don't make me hate Aria more.' All my prayers were answered, she definitely came up better. No longer the cowering woman, too terrified of her own shadow. She somehow let herself ease into the role of authority as the capo's wife which is a huge improvement from her image in 'Bound by Honor'. At least I can finally agree, Aria is by far the most reasonable Scuderi. She doesn't like Luca's dark side but being with a man like him, she learned to accept it. That doesn't mean she approves of the things he does, only knows he's doing what's expected of him. She tries not to get in between unless it's an absolute necessity, like helping the ones she loves. It might appear she's taking advantage of his love when in reality, she's keeping him in check, making sure in his determination to be the best capo the famiglia has ever seen, he doesn't forget to put family first. She pretty much keeps him in the gray line and to say Luca had the biggest character development would be accurate. Did I mention how glad I am that he is finally taking his wife wining and dining instead of having her up in his expensive tower all day with a bodyguard in tow? Efforts are appreciated since his overprotectiveness is no news. It's the first time we got both Luca and Aria's pov in the same book and it made falling into the timeline and story quite easy. All those little glimpses of events from previous books were brought up here in their own version in detail; it was a great approach to getting a better feel of the couple.
