A Knock at Midnight: A Story of Hope, Justice, and Freedom by Brittany K. Barnett

challenging hopeful informative slow-paced

5.0

Amazing insight and humanization of life sentencing for drug related crimes. I knew a but about these injustices but this, perhaps shamefully, is the first time I really understand how deeply wrong this system is. I loved the telling of Barnett's personal story and journey as a lawyer interwoven with th lives of her clients. Will be recommending and revisiting.
