Emma by Jane Austen
5.0
"Emma" is one of my favourite Jane Austen books. To a lot of people, Emma is very obnoxious, but I just dote on her. She's smart, intelligent and yet so clueless when it comes to other people's feelings and that's why I find her so endearing. She's flawed to the bone and, even with the greatest of intentions, she always manages to make a mess of things. She's spoiled, self-assured, incredibly bratty and proud, and she sees herself as superior to most people - what's not to love? I also think "Emma" is the most fun, hilarious book by Jane Austen; she's truly at the peak of her game with her ironic, witty storytelling (not as mockingly blatant as in "Northanger Abbey" but way more refined, imo). Lastly, Mr Knightley is the best love interest, feel free to change my mind.
