This is what I would call a standard Modern-Era Nora Roberts standalone. There's a killer, a woman trying to find herself, and a gruff dude. There's found family, impeccable food descriptions, lush settings and gardens. The plot does get repetitive and drag towards the back third--we really don't need to spend so much time with such a rote killer--but overall, a satisfying summer read and a high-quality audiobook presentation.
