My hand pressed against my heart. She was stealing it, little by little.
What an absolutely smashing start to this series. This is so different to what Devney Perry has written before and yet it still allows for her brilliant talent to shine through. In this book we meet Londyn (and her best friend Gemma), two of six runaways who all met in Temecula, California and lived in a junkyard when they ran away from home. Londyn decides to leave her life in Boston, take the Cadillac she and fellow runaway Karson used to sleep in - which she had lovingly restored - and go on a road trip to give the Cadillac back to her old friend. Except fate steps in and one scraped Cadillac later and Londyn meets mechanic Brooks and her life changes forever. This is a story about falling in love. This is a story about being so very grateful for having food and clothes and a safe roof over your head. This is a story about found family. And this is a story about finding a life and finding a home. Absolutely loved it.
