Radical Candor: Be a Kickass Boss Without Losing Your Humanity by Kim Malone Scott

4.0

Kim Scott flags her work philosophy's shortcomings in the revised edition's preface as well as in the excerpt of her new book "Just Work", and I agree with the concerns others have in how accessible being " radically candid" is for anyone who is not a straight white person. With that in mind though I still found Scott's guide to be very helpful and applicable in my own journey towards management. Thankfully the company I currently work for is very conscious of diversity and inclusion, and we are constantly given opportunities to openly voice our opinions on how we feel about the company's practices and our work culture. I am in a safe and secure environment to apply some of Scott's practices and I'm already seeing improvements in my team's workflow as a result. I'm excited to read "Just Work" as I truly did find this book to be beneficial overall for my professional growth.
