Wow. This book was something else!
The world building was solid and believable, which is impressive for a book about vampires, mages and demons! The characters were likeable and well rounded, and the story had me gripped from the very beginning. Which means starting reading at 1am was a bad idea!
Mortimer has a brilliant way with words, some of the speech made me laugh out loud.
Speaking of laughter, the acknowledgements at the start of the book were brilliant. I don't even usually read them. But for some reason I did, and I'm so glad.
I love how cleverly elements of Norse mythology were woven into a tale about mythical beings. "Yanna" was probably my favourite character, maybe because her first English word was "shoe!"
