I really enjoyed some elements of this like Cassiel's struggles leaving an abusive home and meeting herself again. I enjoyed the relationship between the two MCs.
I think the start of the relationship was too quick and I didn't like I guess what felt like a lack of world building / substance to the magic elements. I feel like I just prefer a more permiated fantasy experience whereas this book used the fantasy elements to prop up the real life elements. And we only found stuff out when we had to find out. For me the core of the story was the real life elements, if that makes any sense and the angels Vs demons thing was a gloss on the top instead of an essential part.
That said I loved this couple. I do love a sapphic romance. I think it was written well and it was enjoyable. It also made me think a lot about restrictive parenting / environments and the work it takes to allow yourself pleasure. The characters did a great job of working through that. And I really enjoyed the non linear nature of that journey.
