I was looking for a light little romance to pick me out of my reading slump, but this ended up being deeper than I expected. Although I still enjoyed it!

I LOVED Ruby. I found her character and her exploration of her own identity to be so interesting. She is truely a character that exists in multiple conflicting realities but still manages to stumble her way to being okay.  Morgan had to grow on me a bit. She is meant to act as a foil for Ruby and at some points that dynamic works out great, but at other points it leads her to making really brash decisions that often don't help her situation at all. Between the two of them and their differing experiences and outlooks on their identities, miscommunication was a huge point in the narrative and in their relationship.

Ruby felt more fleshed out to me than Morgan did. I felt like Morgan was a bullet list of traits that were repeated over and over and that was almost her entire character.
1. Gay
2. Trackstar
3. Lawsuit (related to point 1)
Morgan did end up having a pretty satisfying arc by the end of the book, I just wish it had come a bit sooner.

Overall an enjoyable read with some serious character developments for both of the leading women.
