I enjoyed this history of the careers of Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel.  It started with a brief introduction to the pair, and focuses mostly on the pair working together as film critics in their show Siskel and Ebert (among many other titles).

Siskel and Ebert's show was groundbreaking in the history of film criticism.  Their show created the genre.  It was influential to future critics as well as pop culture as a whole with their "thumbs up/thumbs down" system of rating films.

This book is a good introduction to their lives, their influence on popular culture, and their sadly early demises.  It's worth a read for film, pop culture, rating and biography fans.
