The Daylight Marriage by Heidi Pitlor

2.0

This book was recommended in a "If you liked Gone Girl, you'll also like . . . ." guide. However, the similarities to Gone Girl are surface level at best. Like Gone Girl, the husband and wife are both fundamentally unlikable. However, they are both so passive that I couldn't stir up strong feelings about them at all. Without giving away any spoilers, the plot--to me--has several major gaps and were fueled on actions and coincidences that would be unlikely. On the positive side, it did hold my interest long enough to finish it. I would call it a subway or beach book--slightly entertaining but ultimately forgettable.
