If you aren’t familiar with what is said to be Poe’s greatest short story then please Google, YouTube it, or read the cliff notes version. The Cask is Danielle Allen’s adaptation of a classic “I believe you did me wrong so here’s some revenge” trope and it works perfectly. The three c’s are there: conflict, confrontation and cattiness and just the right amount of romance to make this quite entertaining. Allen has taken Poe’s work and made it fresh and relevant to today. Check it out!
