I always enjoy going into Shady Hollow and finding a cozy, whimsical mystery. The setting is always fun and I love imagining the different characters in their little town. I do enjoy the characters in this series, too. Who knew I could enjoy the romantic issues between a fox and a bear so much? That being said, I liked the first book better than this one. Mainly due to the mystery:
there was only one new character introduced this book and the clues very clearly pointed to her being the culprit from the beginning, so there was no surprise. I kept thinking it had to be someone else for there to be any kind of twist because otherwise it was too obvious, but in the end it was just that: obvious.
Despite that, I’d still like to dive back into another Shady Hollow mystery. They’re just fun and more lighthearted than other books I read, which I enjoy.
