This was a certifiably good time! How could you not love a marriage of convenience with a nutty FMC and a lonely 400 year old billionaire monster? I loved both MCs and I adored their meet cute. Lucy is 93% me, and I'm debating how best to sue for personality plagiarism.
Exhibit A: Severe case of loud verbal diarrhea without a filter and complete inability to control facial expressions. Check.
Exhibit B: Weirdo obsessed with pop culture and snorts when laughing. Check.
Exhibit C: "Viktor...listened to her hour-long dissertation on why The Rise of Skywalker was the worst misogynistic piece of crap ever made and how it nearly destroyed her enjoyment of the entire series." Check.
Exhibit D: Four words. Fleece. Star Wars. Bathrobe. Yeah, I have a fleece Jedi robe. What of it?

The beginning of the book was paced perfectly. But once we got past that 50% mark, it felt too rushed. And our villain, Branka, was a bit OTT. Then again, I don't believe in good and evil. Everyone's a shade of grey. (Which probably goes a long way to explaining my taste in media.)

If you like feisty (but thoughtful) FMCs and MMCs who are Cinnamon Rolls on the inside, "Who did this to you!?" on the outside, this book is for you. Bonus: a touch of praise kink. "She’d never known how much she wanted to be a good girl until that moment."
