Spare by Prince Harry

4.0

There are always two (or more) sides to every story, but this one paints a picture of an appalling institution that I am unsure why the British people would want to continue to support. I really don’t know much about the Royal family beyond watching the Crown, which we can say is probably just “based” on the truth, but the little I have learned is a little jarring. Harry has a bone to pick with the media, and that can get tedious in this book, and some details shared seem unnecessary, but all in all this memoir left me feeling incredulous as to why people want to maintain an institution well past its prime- and one that destroys families at that.
