Jessica Joyce forever has my heart with her worrying and what a perfect little novella she wrote! You’d think an author would struggle to catch your feelings so fast and so perfectly with a book that has less than 100 pages but no, Jessica Joyce is just the powerful and great.
I love the idea of seeing someone for the first time and instantly being attracted to them, to know that there’s some sort of magnetic pull that will keep you going back to them, and that’s what you get with Claire and Connor. Two people that are so perfect for one another, yet it’s not the right time.
As Claire takes a risk before taking an even bigger one, she finds out that sometimes being careful can pay off and that it’s worked in her favour when she comes across Connor. This man is all sorts of perfection and I’m jealous that Claire got to spend not one, not two, BUT THREE NIGHTS with him. Like come on? Why can’t good things happen to me? I’m a good person?!
Something that really stood out to me within this book was how that even when something is giving you a reason to not do something, you follow your gut and do it anyway. Taking a risk is never easy but it does often pay off in a good way, and even though Claire and Connor met at the wrong time, it was the right thing to happen. Claire continued to do what she dreamed and it worked out for them in the end.
I also just want to talk about how even though there were a lot of sexual scenes within the story, I love the intimacy the took place. Some innocent laughter and long gazes can go a long way during a moment, and those little things make everything more memorable and meaningful. The romance was perfect and then the little New Year’s party? JUST TAKE ALL OF MY MONEY.
This will be a favourite for years to come, and I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants something fast, soft and adorable as anything!
