Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson

this novel was painful to read. it evoked so much emotion, so many tears. it was at its core, tragic.
lots of people are of the opinion that this book romanticizes anorexia. I respectfully disagree.
having suffered through something similar, watched friends suffer through something similar...this was spot on. at least in my experience. because... how lia thinks is how I thought. how lia acted is how i acted.
anyway. the whole thing was great, wonderful, beautiful. but its also very very ugly. don't go in with a light stomach and hopes for a happy ending where everything is sunshine and rainbows.
