Probably closer to a 3.5/3.75, because the pacing was off for most of the book and the ending was rushed and unfulfilling, but the romance was wonderful. This hit all the right notes for two aggrieved men having to work together to achieve their desired outcome and falling for each other along the way. Loved the training sequences and their budding relationship boiling over once the tension hits a high on this heist. I was expecting closed door fade to black kind of scenes but this was decently spicy. The side characters were under developed and there wasn’t enough time dedicated to how their stories connected to our leads. Felt like I know more about Percy’s little butler guy than I do Marian or Rob. But it was really great to see a disabled lead bisexual character. That’s the rep I love to see. I had fun with this and know it’s a sequel, so I’m trying not to be too harsh on the unfulfilled ending and lack of development for the side characters that will take the lead next.
