From the first chapter I just wanted to give Meg a hug and punch Zak in the face! The first few chapters are pretty heavy but it’s not called a rom com for nothing. The heaviness sets a great stage for the rest of the book. It puts a realness to life that isn’t seen in a lot of books. #theirstruggleisreal. The mix of heavy and comedy is perfect! A deep funny book… yep… sign me up!
The culture references are fun! Oh and the comparisons/descriptions take the cake!
Tyler and Meg’s second meetcute had me giggling… yes giggling. Tyler is a sly guy and if I were Meg… I’d be swooning… maybe the full effect of passing out with that swoon. Butterflies galore. He really can find the smallest, craziest things to make some good ole romantic tension… some flirty guys are obnoxious but man… Tyler has got game. That tension… so good.
Their bluntness is incredible and hilarious. Many places I was smiling and laughing inside… but then laughter just bubbled out. Megs inner dialog… so fun!

And for the side characters... I completely adored Meg’s coworkers and the way she loves her job. Little Krew broke my heart. Oh and Tyler’s friends… ok all the people… we’ll most.

This is one of those books you don’t just read for the ending, you read for every. Single. Scene. I didn’t want it to end and I’d totally be ok if it took me a week to read with a bit each day! You can bet as soon as the paperback goes live I was there! Gotta have this book on my favorites shelf along side all the rest of Kourtney Kiesel's books.
I think Kourtney Kiesel could write anything and I’d be her biggest fan. The writing style pulls me in and comes to life.

Trigger warning: Loss of spouse and parent. Grief and mourning.
