Such a beautiful twist on the Beauty & The Beast story! I absolutely love how Gonzalez can create such noble characters who still have flaws! Raelyn is a headstrong princess whose stubbornness is sometimes gets her into trouble while at other times it is just what is needed in a situation. Alex's temper is addressed as both something he needs to tame and control while at the same time acknowledging that the pain causing his anger is real. And the theme of not returning evil for evil, breaking cycles rather than giving in to our worse impulses, is a wonderful reminder in a world that is broken. Plus, there's great humor in this one, with all of the familial teasing and slightly awkward situations. This is a gem!
