This book is fantastic. It's a great twist on the arranged marriage and even why choose. I thought the magic system here felt unique and new despite using familiar creatures. The storyline captured my attention and I appreciate the nods to Hispanic heritage. I love the cultures for each type of creature, and the lore is well developed as well.
You can tell how well developed the characters, world, and history are. The complexity takes skill, as well as, be able to explain it in a way that isn't difficult to understand.
There is spice and could be skipped without losing too much of the storyline. The main character is sensual in nature, and I would keep that in mind.
There are graphic violent scenes, and I would be mindful of TW.
Highly recommend this series.
