This book is the 3rd book in the series and it interconnects with the Cartel Wars prequel Cold Blood.
This one is dark but not as dark as Blood Spilled.
Isaiah and Joey are married and are living away from the other characters in the series because of things happening in the prequel. But one day Joey gets kidnapped and sent into a human trafficking ring. Isaiah being behind himself asks an old friend, Carlos, to try finding him because that is what acarlos does best.
And the story take some turns, but I won't spoil it for you. I enjoyed the story and dynamic between the three main characters. Also Ashlynn knows how to write unhinged bad guys.
Can't wait for the next one.
