I'm still pretty new to T. Kingfisher, but she does a good job of making horror fantastical and lighter. While I wouldn't say I loved all the characters of this book, and we spent a lot of time with the daughter being abused by her sorcerer mother, it had a satisfying ending. I also appreciated having so many older characters in the book. I found them to be really enjoyable!
