What She Knew
by Gilly Macmillan
Rachel is walking in the woods with her 8-year-old son, Ben, and makes the split decision to let him run ahead. When she gets to where they should meet, he has disappeared without a trace. Gilly Macmillan kept me gripped by shifting between the perspectives of Rachel and the investigating officer, Jim. This story is well done, with believable and likeable characters and great pacing. One particularly unique part of this book is that the author weaves in social media's role in news stories and in public shaming. This was a great, fast read for anyone who enjoys a good psychological thriller.
