This is the first book in a trilogy. It is fast-paced, so I was done with it almost as quickly as I started. And it’s very straight to the point (maybe because I’m used to more twists and complex developments).
Book 1 was quite interesting. I enjoyed reading it, and I loved the vivid descriptions of a Scottish Christmas. it made me want to experience Christmas in Inverness! I also appreciated the family dynamics in the MacGregor home and how warm and welcoming the small town felt.
My only issue was that Colin wasn’t as proactive with the divorce as I expected. If he really liked Melissa, wouldn’t it have made more sense to hasten the finality of the divorce rather than let it drag on for so long?
But overall, it was an enjoyable read.
