The Prosecutor by Nichole Severn

5.0

The Prosecutor is the story of former FBI bomb technician Jonah Watson and deputy district attorney Madison Gray.

Synopsis:
Madison is prosecuting the case of the Rip City bomber. She’s six months pregnant from a one-night stand with Jonah and wants to bring up the baby by herself.

Thirty-three-year-old Maddi is the target of the bomber. And Jonah will do anything to keep her and their baby out of danger. He has only just got back the semblance of a family he lost long ago.

Review:
I’d tell you you’re supposed to be sleeping, but I’ve known you long enough to know I’d probably have a high heel thrown at my face if I dared question your work habits.

And that is why I love [a:Nichole Severn|5763145|Nichole Severn|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1544285676p2/5763145.jpg]’s books! The pregnant lady is as badass as anyone can be; a workaholic to boot, she doesn’t let minor cuts and scrapes or major life events from working towards reaching her goal. She can be insecure, she can be scared, but she marches on and comes out stronger in the end. But yes, that does not mean that this is any less of a romance because both the protagonists often work together, whether it be through their issues or related to their respective professions.

This was such a riveting read. I couldn’t even stop to take pointers for this review because I was so busy being astonished by the next reveal. And there are so many reveals along the way, even though it is done in what I would call the “lawyer style.”

Reading this book was like piecing together a puzzle, as we chased after Jonah and Madison in search of the pseudo-bomber. There’s everything you could possibly want in a romantic suspense, starting with the romance to fistfights and added to this was the explosive expert Jonah’s expertise in solving the case(s). Plus he added the thrill of not being able to guess the antagonist till they were revealed!

There were so many instances in this story where I almost forgot to breathe. This was one of the most perfect romantic suspense I had ever read with one of the most adorable endings. Sigh!

Next up is [b:The Suspect|55461528|The Suspect (Marshal Law #4)|Nichole Severn|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1608975381l/55461528._SY75_.jpg|86488808] – the boss’ book.

Thank you to the author for an e-ARC of the book.
