A stunningly beautiful and haunting story. A book that has now made it to my all-time favorites' list just because of how honest and raw the story is. It pierced my heart and shattered my soul. Tragic and eye opening to the suffering of colonized and oppressed countries. I believe that everyone should read this to get a glimpse and understand what war can do to countries, families, loved ones and .. life. I will think about Salama, Kenan, Layla, Youssef, and Dr. Hamza forever. And Khawf was so masterfully spun as character it was a shock but not at the same time.
