Beloved by Toni Morrison

Did not finish book.

I only read the first chapter, but I really couldn't stand the man that shows up and it seems like I am supposed to see him as a good guy so... I am not ready for all of this at the moment at least. Maybe this was not the best book to start with Toni Morrison or maybe the author is not for me. The subjects addressed are dark and I am also not currently in the right state of mind for this. I liked the little I saw of the daughter of the main character though, but that is not enough to keep me reading.
