Wow! When I first started reading this book, I wasn’t quite sure how I’d feel about, but since I can’t not finish anything that I’ve started I kept going. The story alternates between three varying points of view - post war. While Lu is arguably the main player here, Vex definitely steals any scene he’s in (and maybe even your heart). I believe that Ben has a major role yet to play (or at least he had better). Lu thought the war was over, but it would appear that the peace she thought was there was simply a lull while the enemy regathered (allies, strength... a new weapon? Read to find out). By about a third in I could barely put this book down. That cliffhanger ending was not a nice move... fortunately, I have the description for the next book to quell my anxiety. I am looking forward to the sequel.
