A Gambling Man by David Baldacci
3.75
dark mysterious tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

Started fairly slowly and with a lot of slightly tedious description of every new character, but picked up pace and I didn't guess the ending.
There was a somewhat excessive body count, but the descriptions weren't unduly detailed or gory.
The last quarter or so of the book was compelling, and I've immediately started the sequel. I did read the first book of the series recently but I would say this one stands alone well.
