Death of the Author by Nnedi Okorafor

1.0

Meh. The basic premise is that this is actually a literary fiction novel* about an author named Zelu who writes a GROUND-BREAKING, AMAZING, BEST NOVEL IN THE UNIVERSE novel about robots who are still around after the demise of humans. And then excerpts are put in from this GREATEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD novel, and it's mid af.

It's also trying to say a bunch of stuff about disability, misogyny, AI, etc. but the bones of the book are not strong enough to hold up all the commentary.

*Can publishers quit marking litfic as "scifi" just because there is a single, tiny sci-fi element to it?
