I call bulls*t. Also, why would you marry a guy who tried to bargain with a man who was holding a machete to your throat? Hard pass on anyone who gives an armed robber a few bucks in exchange for my life. Any sensible person would give everything to protect their loved one. A break-up would be immediate. That is, if ANY of this book is true (which I tend to believe it is NOT).
Your kid can't be on the same train as a man eating a peanut butter sandwich...etc...etc.....so you decide to take her to a goat farm in the middle of nowhere...sounds safe and totally legit. But then again, if you hadn't taken her would you have a near death story to profit from?
