Here Lies Daniel Tate by Cristin Terrill

3.0

Predictable and kinda gross

This book was so good until
“Daniel” kissed Ren. And it went down hill from there.

I was so invested in this story, I thought it was so amazing! It was confusing at times but that’s how lots of mystery’s are! The mystery behind the man playing as Danial was seemingly important, like us readers were on a need to know basis? He always just said he was “older then he was playing”
And that was valid to me, until he kissed Ren who’s a junior in Hs. And he fell in love with her. That’s just wrong. After that I was hoping we’d learn he was actually only 18 and it wouldn’t be so weird but no. I was just uncomfortable.

The ending wasn’t good, it was a mess and super rushed?
And then the secret being Lex and Patrick having sex, seriously. As if this wasn’t bad enough she had to add in incest. It’s just odd and unnerving. And then fake Danny just dies. And that’s it, we know nothing about who he is.
It doesn’t make for a good ending, it’s not like a cool cliff hanger. There’s no “why” to the story of the boy pretending to be Danny. It’s crazy.

And after finishing, my prediction i made in the beginning was basically completely correct! So ontop of kinda gross, it’s easily predicable
