I think the premise is infinitely clever, and that many won't figure it out (or maybe it's me that's wrong), I didn't find the story itself very good. I certainly wasn't made to feel for Jesse.
Spoiler I get that this is Jesses, a true Indian being assimilated and stolen from by the white guy. That's the authentic part, I am guessing, and it really is a great way to get the important point across, but I think a story should make you feel for the characters as well. Not just teach you a lesson.
