Inside the Shadow City by Kirsten Miller

3.0

I debated whether to give this a 3 or a 4. But the part that swayed me to give it a 3 was the part when they went after Betty. There were a bunch of circimstances that seemed a little too far fetched to me. But otherwise I found the Shadow City part very intriguing: a city for smugglers and thieves under New York City.

The character Kiki Strike was very intriguing as well and I kept wondering who she really was and what she was up to.

But my favorite part of the book were the little end of chapter tips like: How to follow someone without getting caught, how to be a master of disguise, how to eavesdrop, how to tell a lie, etc. And the history of New York was fascinating. I want to go see all the places she talked about!

If you want a good junvielle "spy-esque" type of book, this is the one. There's a good chance I'll read the 2nd one.
