Wildest Dreams by Kristen Ashley

Ok, so this was actually a reasonably entertaining romance (and don't be fooled by the fantasy setting a romance is exactly what this is) and there are lots of sweet moments as our H & h fall in love. Unfortunately our H does something really wrong very early in the piece which I just couldn't get past. And just when I was softening towards him after a lot of the aforementioned sweetness he does something else which clearly demonstrates that (despite protestations to the contrary) he really doesn't love the h as a person in her own right, he is only capable of loving her as a valued possession or pet. And to compound matters this is behavior is never fully addressed ( at least not to my satisfaction). Yes our h finds out what he did - both things at once - and she is angry and yells at him and everything she says is RIGHT and TRUE. Yet immediately, & I do mean immediately - she hasn't even finished yelling at him before it happens - he is shot and supposedly killed leading our h to lashings of guilt for ever yelling at her twue wuv because what he did doesn't matter (umm yes it really does. It show he doesn't value you or consider you have any rights to anything including your own life and body) so when he is miraculously returned from the dead all is wonderful again and the h tells the H she is a bad person for yelling at him (umm no she isn't he totally deserved that and more). Sure the H apologises but that is it. H: I am sorry for x & x but I did it because I love you. h: No, No, it is ok I am a horrible evil person and should never have yelled at you. Then it is all happy, happy, joy, joy the end. GAG!
